Head Lifeguard
The City of Athens is seeking individuals who enjoy working outdoors to join our pool staff. This is a seasonal position expected to last about 120 days and is covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The starting pay rate is $12.00/hr. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Job Summary:
Oversee the daily operation of the swimming pool area, including staff, to assume a supervised and safe environment. This is a temporary, seasonal position in the Recreation Department.

*If you work 550 hours between opening and closing of pool (end of May to end of August) AND have a valid lifeguard certification through September 2022, you will be eligible for a reimbursement for your lifeguard certification or recertification.
The City may consider any other equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
